Summary

Abstract. – Inventory of the flora of Belgian Lorraine cemeteries. This article presents the results of an inventory of the vascular plant flora carried out in the 111 currently used community cemeteries of the Belgian Lorraine (south of the Province of Luxembourg, Bel-gium). During the period 2016-2018, 594 taxa, both native and non-native, were recorded outside the lawns. Arlon cemetery, the largest one in the region, has the highest number of taxa (249). Native taxa account for 64% of the species and include 24 species considered threatened in Wallonia, in particular Gagea villosa and Holosteum umbellatum. The role cemeteries play in the processes of introduction and dispersal of certain plants is discussed, as well as the impact on the flora of alternatives to herbicide weed management which is currently prohibited.
