Abstract
Four new species of the genus Chiron MacLeay, 1819, from the Afrotropical region: Chiron lucifer n. sp., C. mariannae n. sp., C. stuempkei n. sp., and C. aberlenci n. sp. are described and compared with their most related species. Due to the importance of the external genitalia within the systematics of the genus Chiron MacLeay, and notably the conformation of the copulatory sclerites of the endophallus, these morphological structures are precisely described and illustrated for each taxa. A geographical distribution map of all the species herein described is provided.
