Welcome to the Cucurbit Website! The gourd family, Cucurbitaceae, comprises 95 genera with about 1000 species of mainly tropical and subtropical flowering plants. Some of them are well-known from our daily life, e.g. cucumber, zucchini, melon, watermelon, and pumpkin. This website gives descriptions of all genera and lists the accepted species together with some information on phylogenetic relationships. Please get in touch if you spot any errors or omissions.
